WORLD STOP: Beyoncé Returns with “Formation”

THE KING HAS RETURNED. Following up her collab in the “Hymn for the Weekend” video and preceding her Super Bowl half-time show appearance with frontrunners Coldplay and Bruno Mars, Queen Beyoncé is back with new visuals of her own, right on time during Black History Month. Collecting everyone’s edges and getting us all together, Mrs. Carter’s TIDAL exclusive “Formation” blends Louisiana’s Southern Gothic elements with fashion from the Motherland all the while being unapologetically black as hell.

“My daddy Alabama, Mama Louisiana. You mix that Negro with that Creole, get a Texas Bama.”

Co-written by Rae Sremmurd’s Swae Lee and produced by Mike Will Made It, Beyoncé does slay indeed and stuns from the first few seconds on screen in the New Orleans video. All cares thrown to the wind, the elusive songstress leaves the next three-and-some-odd minutes full of flawless natural-haired choreography, tributes to the Civil Rights Movement, #BlackLivesMatter, police brutality victims Trayvon Martin and Ferguson’s Mike Brown, and even a cameo from heir to the Knowles-Carter thrown, Blue Ivy herself. Currently being flooded down your social media timelines by a Beyhive member near you, a new Beyoncé era is finally upon us and she is NOT letting up on the reigns. We here at FTS are more than excited to see what’s next! Visit now to see the visual and download a free mp3 of the audio. Happy Fe-Bey-ary! *black power fist*
