Question: Any advice on how to pitch an article properly?
Conscious: Am I good enough to be pitching this publication?
Subconscious: Have you been paying attention? No seriously, have you? What do they share or produce? How often?
Conscious: What about your perspective is beneficial or unique to this publication? What do they need that only you can provide?
Subconscious: Pitch the direct department head that your work applies to. If you can not find their direct contact information, find a name and address your query to “____” and company. Specifics get you seen.
Conscious: In your query, briefly describe and how your pitch aligns with the publication’s mission, vision or current goals. Include the purpose of the pitch, the passion you have for the publication and a clear plan of action to complete your pitch.
Subconscious: Two major keys: Do and present as much work as you can, within your pitch query and follow up, follow up, follow up.
Be well while greeting your work. It just needs you.
Love and support from my pen to yours,
